Virtual Tour

Rascals Pre School Playgroup is owned by the Rustington Methodist Church and is based in the church hall in the heart of Rustington.

The setting boasts a large airy carpeted hall, a smaller carpeted room for group activities, a kitchen area for craft and cooking activities and two sets of toilet facilities including a disabled toilet.  The outdoor area has recently been refurbished.  It now includes a large hard surface area, a large decked area including an integrated mud pit and a large soft surfaced area.  Three quarters of the garden is now covered by two canopies.  This enables the children to explore the garden area all year round.

As a pack away setting Rascals has the ability to reinvent itself daily.  Ensuring that activities never become stale and that the childrens interests are consistently planned and catered for in setting up both the indoor and outside learning environments.

The setting is free flow and the children have free access to the toys / resources both inside and outdoors via child level storage. The children are encouraged to become independent learners; capable of initiating, resourcing and extending ther own play.  They develop these skills through active learning and by engaging in first hand experiences.  This supports children in developing their own ideas and their understanding of the world around them.

Messy Play

At Rascals we are big advocates of MESSY PLAY!!

Children learn and develop through play, but especially through unstructured, exploratory play. This allows young children to make their own discoveries using their senses, curiosity and knowledge.

At Rascals the children have daily access to a range of malleable resources / activities. These include but are not limited to mark making equipment, paint, playdough, sand, water, gloop, mud, crazy foam, glitter, pasta, rice and baking ingredients.

The children also have access to our newly refurbished garden all year round and in all weathers!!

With this in mind please do not send your child to playgroup in their best clothes because.......
